As a tutor, I have seen time and again that the students who have the strongest skills are the students who do lots of learning outside of school, as well as inside it. That doesn't mean that these kids are doing drills all summer and on the weekends- far from it. They are getting out and exploring the world with their families and friends (or sometimes they're curled up at home with a good book or an interesting hobby).
Mastering how to use their hands is one of the most important things your baby or toddler will be learning in the next few years of their life. But while they are learning how to hold and manipulate objects other very important brain functions, like language, are also developing. You can help your child build strength and dexterity in their hands by playing some fun and easy games with them and doing some simple exercises.

In any waiting room, the children are going to be at the very least cranky and at the worst, nervous and scared on top of possibly feeling ill. It is extremely important in any waiting room situation to provide children with some sort of distraction or entertainment, but in a hospital or clinic situation, it is absolutely vital. The child's guardian will be busy dealing with paperwork and will have little ability to entertain a restless child. Waiting room toys can be a great way to make sure the parents can do what they need to do.

When you are planning on the kinds of crafts for toddlers that you think will become a hit to your kids, you have to think about two things. The crafts must be fun as well as educational. You can allow them to engage themselves in these activities, but you need to set a limit.
